Microtek International said it will invest more than ₹400 crore to expand its solar business, according to a PTI report carried by Business Standard on 25 October 2026. The announcement came after an expo that ended on Saturday. Spectate Media has not seen the company's statement, and the targets below are the company's own.

What the money is for

The company plans a new solar panel plant in Jaipur, expected to be operational by November 2026. The report does not give the plant's capacity. It also plans a new battery energy storage system, to be sold under what it calls its "Har Ghar Bijli Ghar" vision. Products shown at the expo included home inverters, UPS systems, batteries, electrical wires, solar panels, solar inverters and lithium batteries.

The targets

Microtek says it wants to more than double revenue in FY27 to ₹5,000 crore and reach ₹10,000 crore within two years. The report does not give FY26 revenue, so the growth rate cannot be checked. The company describes four pillars, power generation, distribution, conditioning and storage, and says it has a network of more than 100,000 dealers across India.

The policy link

The company links the plan to the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which aims to bring rooftop solar to one crore households. Founder and Chairman N K Aggarwal said the vision reflects an ambition to help households generate and manage their own electricity, and that the company is strengthening its capabilities in battery storage and lithium-based solutions.

Key numbers

  • Investment: Over ₹400 crore (Solar business)
  • FY27 revenue target: ₹5,000 crore (More than double)
  • Two-year target: ₹10,000 crore (Company goal)
  • Jaipur panel plant: November 2026 (Capacity not stated)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points. First, the revenue goal doubles in one year, but the report gives no baseline. Second, the Jaipur plant's start date is a company estimate, with no stated capacity. Third, the plan leans on household rooftop solar demand under a government scheme, so the pace of that scheme matters to the outcome.
