Infosys cut its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 1-2% in constant currency, from 1.5-3% given three months earlier, as it reported second-quarter results on 23 October 2026, according to Business Standard. Coforge reported the same day that profit rose 56.5% and raised its margin outlook. Spectate Media has not seen either company's filing and relies on these reports.

Infosys

Net profit was ₹7,828 crore, up 6.2%, against a Bloomberg estimate of ₹7,904 crore, Business Standard reported. Revenue was ₹49,244 crore, up 10.7%, ahead of the ₹49,108 crore estimate. The article's web address shows ₹7,823 crore and 10.2%, and The Hindu's headline also gives ₹7,823 crore, so the exact figures are uncertain. Dollar revenue rose 1.3% and constant-currency revenue 1.5%, and the operating margin was about 21.1%, roughly flat. Large deals totalled $5.2 billion, including one above $2 billion. Headcount rose by 4,480 to 332,542, and voluntary attrition was 12.7%. Revenue from AI was 10.5% of the total, up from 8.2% in the first quarter. Retail fell 7.7% and hi-tech 17.3%, with the basis not stated. CEO Salil Parekh said, "It was a soft quarter for us." CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka said the second half would be hit by wage hikes and continued pricing pressure. Infosys's US-listed shares fell almost 6.4% in pre-market trading.

Coforge

Net profit was ₹588 crore, up 56.5%, and revenue was ₹6,171 crore, up 53.6%. Dollar revenue grew 10.1% from the previous quarter and 40.1% from a year earlier, and organic constant-currency growth was 3.8% sequentially. The company signed eight large deals, its most in a quarter, with new order intake of $1.04 billion, and its next-twelve-month signed order book was $2.38 billion. It raised operating margin guidance to 17% for the next year, from 15.5-16%. The article does not explain the jump in reported revenue.

Key numbers

  • Infosys net profit: ₹7,828 crore (Up 6.2%; one source gives ₹7,823 crore)
  • Infosys FY27 guidance: 1-2% (Cut from 1.5-3%, constant currency)
  • Coforge net profit: ₹588 crore (Up 56.5%)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points stand out. First, results within the sector diverged sharply in the same quarter. Second, the Infosys CFO's comments point to pricing pressure that may extend into the second half. Third, both companies tied results to AI, one through rising AI revenue and the other through margin gains on fixed-price projects.
