BHEL reported standalone net profit of ₹810 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, up 120% from ₹368 crore a year earlier, according to PSU Connect. The board approved the results on 14 October 2026. Revenue from operations was ₹9,300 crore, up 24% from ₹7,512 crore.

The quarter

Profit before tax was ₹1,078 crore, up 119% from ₹492 crore. Earnings per share were ₹2.33. The figures are standalone. The report gives no consolidated numbers, EBITDA, order book or orders received.

The half-year

For April to September 2026, revenue from operations was ₹16,998 crore, up 31% from ₹12,999 crore. Profit before tax was ₹1,591 crore, against a loss of ₹115 crore in the first half of FY26. Net profit was ₹1,192 crore, against a loss of ₹87 crore, and earnings per share were ₹3.42.

In the half-year, the power segment contributed ₹12,557 crore of revenue and the industry segment ₹4,441 crore. The report gives no segment profit and no quarterly segment split.

What the report leaves out

The article does not mention a share price reaction, margins, or any dividend. It also does not explain why profit grew faster than revenue.

Key numbers

  • Net profit: ₹810 cr (+120% YoY)
  • Revenue: ₹9,300 cr (+24% YoY)
  • Profit before tax: ₹1,078 cr (+119% YoY)
  • H1 net profit: ₹1,192 cr (vs −₹87 cr)

What boards and CFOs should note

Three points stand out for finance teams. First, profit grew about five times as fast as revenue in the quarter, at 120% against 24%, so the report's figures point to a large improvement in profitability on the year. Second, the first half moved from a loss of ₹87 crore to a profit of ₹1,192 crore. Third, the power segment accounted for about 74% of half-year segment revenue, by the report's figures of ₹12,557 crore out of ₹16,998 crore.
